Corcoran High Class Athletes of the Year were honored during last week’s Athlete of the Year banquet which was held in the Technology Learning Center at CHS. A female and male athlete of the year are chosen in each class. The following are the winners
Coach Doug White earns 447th career win to break record
Coaching girls’ basketball has given Corcoran High Coach Doug White many things. It has given him 15 league titles (11 consecutive titles), 10 section championships-the most in section history—and now it has given him is 447th win to claim the record of being the Most Winningest Girls’ Basketball Coach in the Section.
Local travel teams win
Corcoran Boys’ Traveling Basketball team. The team took first place in the Summer Heat Tournament which was recently held in Lemoore.

The Corcoran High Class Athletes of the Year were honored last Wednesday during the school’s annual Athlete of the Year banquet. The banquet was held in the Technology Learning Center (TLC).

Ladies win D-IV title

Turnovers hurt the Corcoran High School varsity girls’ basketball team during Tuesday night’s CIF Division IV state play-off game. Corcoran was the number eight seed and they hosted number nine seed Bellarmine Jefferson of Burbank.
A tough full court press forced 23 Corcoran turnovers in the first half but despite that the Lady Panthers still hung close at the half trailing 32-43. However, the second half was all Bell-Jeff as the Panthers struggled. Corcoran ended the game and their season with a 55-76 loss.
