Carl H. Froehlich won the Col. James G. Boswell Scholarship in 1970. He shared the prestigious honor with Shirley Fugate and David Barnes. Froehlich died at the age of 63 years old in 2015 but he made an impact as a Boswell Scholar and continues to do so after his death with a memorial Scholarship.

Two overall athletes of the year were named along with Class athletes of the year and scholar athletes of the year. Closed campus being discussed for CHS
