Our beloved Tom went to be with the Lord on August 25, 2021 at the age of 57.
Tom was born on January 15, 1964 in Hanford California to Mike Sr. and Lucy Soliz. He was raised in Corcoran, California and attended the local schools. He enlisted in the U.S. Army while still in high school, primarily stationed in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He served as a Field Artillery Surveyor for much of this time; and was honorably discharged in 1986.
Tom was a forklift operator for J.G. Boswell at the time of his death. He worked for the company for 13 years and made many friends throughout those years.
Tom was a big man with an even bigger heart. He would give the shirt off his back, or the last dollar in his pocket to help a loved one. Someone posted it perfectly “He was a diehard Miami Dolphin fan, he bled Dodger blue, swigged Mountain Dew, was a forklift driving, slot machine spinning, Army Veteran and hardworking man. More importantly he had a heart of gold and loved his family, especially his grand babies.”
Tom was humble, he didn’t need big things. He worked hard and when he wasn’t working, he enjoyed being around family and friends. He was the best…a loving brother, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He touched many lives…you could not love Tom. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his nine children, Tommy Soliz, Erin “Sissy” Singleton and husband Adam, Timothy and Nicholas “Pac Man” Soliz; Adrian, Vincent and Jennifer Gonzales; Gilbert and Eric Soliz; and 19 grandchildren; all dear to his big heart.
Also surviving Tom are his siblings, Mike Soliz Jr. (and wife Nancy), Rueben Soliz (and wife Kate), Richard Soliz, Chris Soliz (and wife Sylvia), Margie Soto and Lori Saldaña, along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mike Sr. and Lucy Soliz, grandparents Fidel and Tomasa Soliz and Clarence and Laura Bega.
Visitation will be held at Bledsoe People’s Funeral Chapel in Corcoran, Ca. on September 7, 2021 from 4 p.m ~ 6 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on September 8, 2021, at 10:00am at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Corcoran, Ca., with graveside to follow at Corcoran Cemetery.
