William Lee Powell Jr. was born in Eagle Point, Oregon April 26, 1932. He passed away with family by his side, January 6, 2016. William “Bill” was former owner and operator of Bill’s Texaco for 30 years.

He married Darce Huckabay, May 6, 1961. They were married 54 years. They made Corcoran their home, where they raised their children. Bill enjoyed deep sea fishing, traveling to many dirt bike racing events, watching western movies, especially Texas Rangers. Bill served in the USAF during the Korean War. He was crew chief working on B-55 bombers. Many times he would attempt growing tomatoes; however the outcome wasn’t exactly as he had planned.

Bill is survived by his wife, Darce; his daughter, Monica McVay and son, Darin Powell. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Celebration of life was held at the First United Methodist Church, Tuesday, January 12 at 10 a.m. Arrangements were made under the direction of the Bledsoe Family People’s Funeral Home.
