A Corcoran woman was arrested Nov. 21 after police responded to a reported stabbing.

According to the police department, officers were called to a residence in the 1200 block of Patterson at approximately 11:30 p.m. on that date regarding a possible stabbing victim. When officers and paramedics arrived, they contacted a 31-year-old man who had minor stab wounds to his neck and back.

The victim told officers he had been assaulted near the park located in the 800 block of Brokaw Ave. He said the person who stabbed him was his ex-girlfriend, Valerie Molina, 30. The victim said he and Molina argued, during which time she stabbed him with an unknown sharpened weapon.

He told police he fled on foot from the area to his residence. The victim was later transported to an area hospital for treatment, after which he was released.

Officers were able to locate Molina and arrested her at her apartment in the 1700 block of Dairy Avenue. She was charged with assault with a deadly weapon and corporal injury to a spouse or co-habitant.

Molina was transported to the Kings County Jail in Hanford, where she was being held on $50,000 bail.
